Operating Principles

We drafted the following statement as an homage to the Operating Principles of The Santa Fe Institute.

At Hallcraft we’re reimagining what school could be. We aim to become the very best in the world at bringing new schools of all shapes and sizes into existence. We are both playful and rigorous in this pursuit.

In the face of a stagnant and monolithic education landscape our solution is to build more schools. We build high-quality, nonstandard schools that put the student experience first. We embrace new technology. We believe in intentional environments and the power of talented teachers to electrify students. We believe in banishing speed limits on learning.

We will use any means available to push innovation forward and ensure that more families have access to quality schools.

Whether you’re an educator, parent, teacher, supporter, or critic, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome risk-takers who work at the imaginative boundary of what is possible. In particular, we like learning about new technologies that support learning and new perspectives on what school could be. We love unorthodox methods and unexpected connections.

For us, imagining, building, and learning all go hand in hand. It’s not always pretty. We’re happiest when things are just a little out of balance.
